Rosemary Epperson

Rosemary Epperson

Rosemary Epperson’s love of textiles and sewing techniques has been a continuous thread throughout her life. Her interest in all things fiber was stimulated during her youth by relatives and home arts teachers, and she began making her own clothes. Formal academic classes in fabric dyeing, quilting, weaving, felting and beading at Towson University’s the Fiber Arts program furthered her knowledge.

This background led Rosemary thirty years as the licensed clothing buyer, merchandiser and Director of the Towson University Store.

Now retired, Rosemary shares her skills in pattern-making and couture sewing classes at the Maryland Center for Fashion Design. Currently she is working on a line of wearable art embellishing clothing with applique and embroidery. Her creative process is organized, yet flexible to allow for imaginative insights discovered during the process.

Rosemary believes that hand-stitching imparts a special touch of the human hand and imagination that distinguishes custom clothing from mass-produced ready-to-wear.
